Biography of Robert (Buddy) Pittman,

Buddy Pittman has worked in the television industry for more than three decades, starting with WESH-NBC TV Orlando in 1973. He began his career in the production department as a studio cameraman but quickly advanced to master control operations and then to directing the nightly news programs. Buddy then move into the newsroom as a news photographer, initially shooting 16mm film and then moved to video when he became the first ENG news photographer in the Orlando market.

Buddy also produced the first live microwave link news report in the Central Florida TV market.

During this time Buddy received three Orlando Press Club awards. In 1976, Buddy was promoted to the Sports Department as a reporter and one year later was named Sports Director.

In 1979 Buddy accepted a position WLWT-NBC TV in Cincinnati. While in the Queen City, Buddy covered the Cincinnati Reds baseball club as well as the Bengals NFL franchise and produced the Bengals Coaches TV shows.

Buddy returned to day-to-day television as Sports Director at WCPX- CBS TV in Orlando. In 1985 he returned home to WESH-NBC TV where he worked as Sports Director, anchor and reporter for the next 21 years. In1988 Buddy was named the Sportscaster of the Year by the Florida Athletic Coaches Association.

During that time Buddy covered every Daytona 500 since 1975, numerous World Series, Super Bowls and NBA Championships.

In 1995 while still at WESH-NBC TV, Buddy joined forces with Dan Coughlin to create BIOCAM, a bio-mechanical data system and in 1999, along with Dan, founded All Sports Telemetry, (AST). AST’s clients included NASCAR broadcasts on ABC and ESPN, NBC and TNT, Indy Car and Indy 500 races for ABC; NHRA drag racing for ESPN2; and Olympic Cycling for NBC.

Buddy has since continued his worked in telemetry to create BIOCAM 2.0, the next generation of cutting edge real-time telemetry and Complex Event Processing. Buddy has been a resident of Central Florida since 1971, is married and has two daughters.
